Narrative

An unidentified pedestrian was struck and killed by a NJ transit train on March 26th near Galloping Hill. It was not clarified as to whether the pedestrian was using an authorized walkway or not. No one else, including the 40 passengers on the train, was harmed in the accident that occurred at 9:50a.m. The train that struck the victim was Raritan Valley Line train 5515. The tracks between Cranford and Newark were closed that day. Officials warn that delays may continue occurring as the investigation goes on.
