Narrative
A truck driver went off the road at Route 35 North and McLean Ave. around 3:o5p.m. on April 5th, crashing into a utility pole and a home. Point Plesant Beach Police, the Point Pleasant First Aid & Rescue Squad, Ocean Fire Company, Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company #2, JCP&L, NJ State DOT, South Wall Fire Rescue, and the Brick Township RUST team were all involved in the response to the crash, assisting with first aid, cleanup, or traffic related aspects. The at-fault driver of the truck, Ronald Bennett, 55, was hospitalized and some of the homes in the area lost power when he hit the utility pole. No one was in the residence when it was destroyed.
