HOWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ – A bus driver went to the hospital on Tuesday morning after crashing into a house in Howell Township.
The incident happened around 7:15 a.m. on Asbury Avenue, which runs between Perimeter Road and NJ-33.
The investigation indicates that the 22-year-old driver may have fallen asleep when he left the roadway and hit a utility pole and mailbox before crashing into the home.
Medics transported the driver to the hospital with injuries to the face and head.
Police say the bus was not carrying any students. A mom and her two children were in the house at the time of the crash but were not injured.
