Narrative
MARLBORO, NJ – The driver of a fuel tanker went to the hospital Tuesday after his truck collided with a school bus in northwest Monmouth County.
The incident happened around 3 p.m. on Route 18 in Marlboro.
Police say that the driver of a northbound school bus attempted to make a U-turn on Route 18. While entering the southbound side of the highway, a southbound fuel tanker collided with the bus.
Medics transported the truck driver to a hospital in Neptune, where he is now reported to be in stable condition.
The school bus was not carrying any students at the time of the crash, and no other injuries have been reported.
Crews are still working to clean up the fuel spilled from the tanker during the collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
