Narrative
EGG HARBOR TWP, NJ – A pedestrian died Thursday night in Egg Harbor Township when a vehicle struck them and fled the scene.
The incident happened around 6:40 p.m. on Black Horse Pike near Bayport Drive, which is west of the Atlantic City Expressway and south of Bayport Condominium Association.
Police say the pedestrian was attempting to cross Black Horse Pike when the vehicle struck them, and they died at the scene. Authorities have not yet identified the victim.
The driver fled westbound on Black Horse Pike following the crash. Authorities are looking for a vehicle with probable damage to the front end. They’ve not shared any further information about a suspect.
Officials warned of delays in the area following the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
