Narrative
HAMMONTON, NJ – A 22-year-old woman died, and two others went to the hospital Thursday after a two-car collision along a busy roadway in Hammonton.
The incident happened just after midnight on Black Horse Pike between 8th Street and South Pinewood Drive, which is in the Penny Pot area.
The investigation thus far indicates that a Toyota struck the rear of a Ford SUV while both vehicles were headed northwest on Black Horse Pike. The collision forced the SUV off of the highway, at which point it rolled and hit several parked cars.
The driver of the SUV died at the scene of the accident. Authorities identified her as Yolanda Pachecho.
Both a passenger in the SUV and the driver of the Toyota were injured in the accident. They are expected to recover.
A full investigation is underway.
