Narrative
ROCKAWAY TWP., NJ – A chain-reaction collision along the highway in central Morris County injured two people on Friday morning.
The series of accidents occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. on the westbound side of I-80, or the Christopher Columbus Highway, in Rockaway Township.
Police say that an initial crash involving an 18-wheeler and a dump truck caused a serious of additional collisions involving four more vehicles.
The impact of the first crash threw the driver and passenger from the dump truck. They went to an area hospital with serious injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
