Narrative
PLEASANTVILLE, NJ – Two people died, and at least seven people were injured Friday in a multi-vehicle crash along a major roadway in southeastern Atlantic County.
The accident happened just before 8:30 p.m. in the 8000 block of Block Horse Pike, which is in the West Atlantic City area.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a westbound 2017 Nissan Sentra entered the eastbound side of the roadway and collided head-on with an eastbound Kia Forte. This initial collision caused the Nissan Sentra to ignite, and it caused the Kia to hit a second Nissan Sentra. A Toyota Yaris was also involved.
Two people died. Authorities have identified the victims as Gabriella Constrantino, 22, and Escarlin Suriel, 21.
Medics transported three adults and two minors to the hospital with serious injuries. Two additional adults went to the hospital with minor injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
