Narrative
NEWARK, NJ – A 13-year-old boy died Sunday in a two-vehicle crash at a busy intersection in the Forest Hill area of Newark.
The incident happened at 9:50 p.m. at the intersection of Montclair Avenue and Clifton Avenue, which is south of Bellevue Park and west of the Passaic River.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a BMW sedan on Clifton Avenue may have run a stop sign at the intersection before crashing into the car in which the victim was a passenger. That vehicle was also a BMW sedan.
The 13-year-old died at the scene of the accident.
It’s unclear if the driver, the victim’s 18-year-old cousin, sustained injuries in the accident. Additionally, there’s no word yet on whether any of the occupants from the other vehicle were hurt.
The investigation is ongoing.
