Narrative
SOUTH AMBOY, NJ – A 24-year-old man died, and two others went to the hospital after a collision along Route 35 in South Amboy on Saturday.
The incident happened just after 5 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway between Kath Street and Fairview, near Fred’s Bait and Tackle.
Police say that a driver lost control of their vehicle and hit a safety bollard near a fire hydrant before overturning and landing on two empty vehicles.
Authorities pronounced a passenger in the backseat deceased at the scene. They identified him as Zion Jackson.
Medics transported the driver and an additional passenger to the hospital with serious injuries.
