Narrative
HAZLET, NJ – No injuries have been reported so far after a New Jersey Coast Line train struck a sedan Wednesday at a train crossing in Hazlet.
The incident happened around 7:32 a.m. at the crossing on Bethany Road between Route 35 and Hazlet Avenue. This is west of Robert Labbe Memorial Park and Veterans Park.
Police have not commented on the cause of the accident. They say the train was carrying around 150 people at the time of the collision and that no injuries have been reported so far.
Officials closed Bethany Road in the area of the crash and transferred the train customers to a different train while crews investigated and cleared the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
