Narrative
TOMS RIVER, NJ – A Lakehurst woman was killed early Tuesday when her SUV hit a stray wheel, causing it to slam into the rear of a pickup truck on the Garden State Parkway.
Police say 46-year-old Elaina S. Clark was southbound on the parkway at about 5:30 a.m. when her SUV hit the tire, which had come off a disabled truck. Her vehicle then veered from the roadway and collided with the rear of the truck.
Clark suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
The pickup’s driver exited his vehicle before the incident occurred.
