Narrative
At 11:16 p.m., three cop cars and an ambulance were struck by a Western Star tow truck while the first responders’ vehicles were at a crash site on Feb. 23rd. The truck, which was towing a box truck, passed through the crash site boundaries compromised of New Jersey state police cars. These cop cars had their lights on and they were using road flares. At the time, the left and center lanes were closed off near milepost 17.6 on I-80 eastbound. When the cars and the ambulance were hit, only one person in the ambulance was slightly injured. No one else was injured because everyone else was outside of their vehicles at the time. An investigation was occurring for this case.
